1. It is better to be safe and not take risks. How far is this true?
It is true to be safe and not take any risks. It is better to be safe than sorry. Why risk so much and to end up harming oneself? Let's take gambling for example, when one feels that he's lucky today and takes the risk of gambling more, and in the end, he lost, all he is going to left with is only a pile of debts, but if he had not taken the risk in the first place, he would not have lost and would have ended up bring home some money and no debts.
Another example is commiting a crime, if one wants to take the risk of commiting a crime purely for fun or had no choice, what lies in front of him will only be jail and a lifetime of bad record. It will not only affect his career but also other people's opinion of him.
That's why is is safer not to take any risk. If one doesn't take risks, he would not have lost anything but if he does, he'll lose more than what he thinks.
